This provides you with opportunities to help shape and inform the development of the Project , through consultations, direct engagement and the public Examination process of the DCO application.

Although the Secretary of State will decide whether to grant consent for the scheme, you have an important role to play in the process by responding to this consultation. After the DCO application is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate, no earlier than late 2023, there will be a 6 month examination period, with input from interested parties and statutory consultees. Following the examination, the Planning Inspectorate will present its recommendation to the Secretary of State who will then make the final decision on whether the DCO should be granted.
