Following this consultation, we will be looking to confirm our preferred corridor and consider further the detailed routing of the pipeline within this corridor. We will use our indicative pipeline route as a starting point but want to hear your views on factors that are important to you that may influence the pipeline route, for example, in relation to possible construction impacts.

In Section 3 of the Consultation Brochure we show two options in corridor section Z south of Fisher’s Pond:

In Section 3 of the Consultation Brochure we show two options in corridor section Z as the pipeline approaches Otterbourne Water Supply Works:

For the construction phase of the Project, we’re looking at using a trenched (open cut excavation) method along the majority of the pipeline route and trenchless methods such as tunnelling to cross major roads, railways and rivers. More information on the typical installation methods can be found in Section 3 of the Consultation Brochure.

ABOVE GROUND PLANT: HIGH LIFT PUMPING STATION

We have identified that we will need a high lift pumping station to support the transfer of water from Havant Thicket Reservoir to Otterbourne Water Supply Works. Our site evaluations concluded that the best location is to site it with the new water recycling plant south of Havant. Details of our site selection process and the location of the high lift pumping station can be found in Section 3 of the Consultation Brochure.
